Quick summary
Try Willow Beach for a Gellatly Bay outing, Pritchard Park for a neighbourhood beach day, or Gellatly Dog Beach when bringing your dog. Check water advisories and local rules before entering the lake.
Willow Beach: a straightforward beach-day choice
Willow Beach has picnic tables, benches, a volleyball court and washroom facilities. It is a useful starting point for a Gellatly Bay outing where you want both beach time and a waterfront stroll.
Choose your visit around what you want to do, not an expectation of empty sand. Summer demand, weather and events can change the feel of the beach.
Pritchard Park: a family outing with more to do
Pritchard Park combines lake access with a playground, volleyball court and picnic spots. Its washroom is seasonal, so check availability if that is essential for your visit.
A playground break can be helpful for a family that does not want to spend every minute in the water. Bring a ball if a game is part of the plan.
Gellatly Bay: combine a walk with your lake visit
The waterfront area lets you make the outing about more than swimming. Choose a legal public access point, enjoy the shore and leave room for a break. Follow signs around launches and other shared areas.
Gellatly Dog Beach: check the pet rules first
Dogs are not permitted on every West Kelowna beach. The city's beach guidance identifies Gellatly Dog Beach as the designated option. Check posted rules before arriving with your pet.
Adding a paddle board to the day
Our West Kelowna paddle board rentals give you a way to add paddling to a suitable beach visit. Choose the launch according to conditions and your ability, not just the closest parking space.
Want the board delivered and inflated? Ask about eligible beaches for our VIP beach service before booking.
