Quick Summary

LED glow paddle boarding uses boards with built-in lights that illuminate the water beneath them. SUPCove's LED Glow option is self-service: you collect, transport, inflate, pack and return the board. Evening paddling needs extra preparation.

If you'd like something different from another patio evening, an illuminated SUP offers a new way to experience Okanagan Lake. The lights are the feature, but the booking still needs the same care as any paddle outing.

1. How the Glow Works

LED lights built into the board shine into the water below it. Their appearance changes with the remaining daylight and water conditions. Starting while it's still light lets you get organised before the glow becomes more visible.

See our LED Glow Paddle Board Experience for the current booking details.

2. Know What You're Booking

This is a customer-pickup experience. You collect the packed equipment, take it to an approved location, inflate and set up the board, then deflate, pack and return it after your paddle.

It isn't a hosted guided tour or a beach delivery service. If you'd prefer the board delivered and prepared, compare the VIP Beach Paddle Board Experience. That service does not automatically include LED boards.

3. Plan for Low Light

Choose a suitable approved location, paddle with company and keep your outing within your ability. Darkness makes navigation and spotting hazards harder. Wear a properly fitted PFD, follow the equipment instructions and check the weather before launching.

The decorative LEDs do not replace required safety equipment. Transport Canada\'s Safe Boating Guide includes a watertight flashlight requirement for SUP use after sunset, before sunrise or in low visibility. Check the full requirements and confirm the necessary equipment before your outing. SUPCove can restrict rentals when conditions are unsuitable.

4. Keep the Evening Flexible

Don't force the plan if wind, visibility or water conditions make it unsuitable. Pack warm layers for after the paddle, a towel and drinking water. Our equipment checklist covers the daytime essentials, with additional preparation needed for low light.

Prefer to Paddle Before Dark?

The daytime guided SUP tour is an alternative if you're not comfortable organising an evening paddle yourself. You can also compare sunrise and sunset experiences for a different kind of lake outing.
