Once a month during the summer, SUPCove hosts a Free Paddle Day in Kelowna, giving locals, visitors and first-time paddlers a chance to get out on Okanagan Lake without paying for a rental or lesson.

We bring the paddle boards. We bring the paddles. You bring yourself.

How Free Paddle Day Works

Our Free Paddle Day runs for approximately 60 minutes total.

We split the event into two groups.

First 30 Minutes: Group One hits the water.

Second 30 Minutes: Boards return to shore and Group Two gets their turn.

This allows more people to try paddle boarding while keeping the event small, simple and fun.

Reservations Are Required

Free Paddle Day has a limited number of boards available.

Reserve your $0 spot online for the upcoming event. Once all available spaces are claimed, registration will close.

Please only reserve a spot if you genuinely plan on attending so another paddler doesn't miss out.

Never Paddle Boarded Before?

That's okay.

Free Paddle Day is designed to give you a short introduction to paddle boarding, but it is not a full paddle board lesson.

If you'd like more instruction, our Kelowna Beginner Paddle Board Lessons cover the fundamentals of paddle boarding, including getting on the board, balance, paddling, turning, board control and basic water safety.

You'll also get considerably more time with your board.

Is paddle boarding really free?

Yes. Your 30-minute paddle during SUPCove Free Paddle Day is $0. There is no requirement to purchase a rental, lesson or paddle board afterward.

Do I need a reservation?

Yes. Space and equipment are limited, so participants must reserve a free spot online before attending.

How long do I get a paddle board?

Each participant receives approximately 30 minutes of paddle time during their scheduled group.

Is this a paddle board lesson?

No. We'll give you a quick introduction and help you get started, but Free Paddle Day isn't a replacement for our full beginner lesson.

Can beginners participate?

Absolutely. The event is intended to give people an easy way to experience paddle boarding.

What if Free Paddle Day isn't happening during my Kelowna vacation?

You can book our 60-Minute Intro to Paddle Boarding for $69 and choose from available dates during your stay.

Can I rent the board afterward?

Subject to availability, yes. Check our Kelowna Paddle Board Rental options if you'd like more time on the water.

Can I buy the paddle board I tried?
