Maddle The Explorer inflatable paddle board

Maddle and LowTide both make inflatable boards for recreational paddling, but the ownership terms make this comparison particularly useful for people who paddle frequently,or are considering a board for a rental operation.

Reference model details were checked on October 18, 2026. “Not stated” means the linked model page did not clearly confirm that detail; it does not necessarily mean the brand cannot offer it. Model versions, package contents and warranty terms can change. Read the cited product page and applicable warranty before purchasing. Relevant policy: Maddle warranty.

Maddle's Explorer: a clear recreational package

The official Maddle Explorer listing specifies a 10'6" × 32" × 6" board, an 18 lb board weight and a 350 lb weight limit. It describes a foldable paddle, leash, hand pump and backpack. Maddle advertises a two-year limited warranty.

The important detail for fleet users is the published Maddle warranty policy: coverage is for normal recreational use and excludes rental operations unless explicit authorization or suitable commercial warranty coverage is provided. For an individual recreational owner, that may not matter; for a business renting boards out daily, it matters a great deal.

LowTide's wider formats and accessories

LowTide's current SUPCove range includes an 11' × 35" Purple rated to 450 lb and a 12' × 36" Aqua rated to 500 lb. Both are wider than the 32-inch Maddle Explorer. SUPCove currently lists the Purple with separate pickup and shipped options and the Aqua with board-only and full-kit variants; check the Purple and Aqua pages for live pricing and package contents.

LowTide's newer specification brief includes dual cargo zones, three removable fins, X-woven drop-stitch, heat-welded seams, a large backpack with thickened shoulder straps and sturdy zippers, plus a paddle convertible between SUP and kayak configurations. The paddles are designed to float and the board rating is up to 16 PSI. Check the exact product configuration before purchase.

The difference is how you plan to use it

For a recreational owner who values a lighter, 10'6" board and Maddle's design range, Maddle remains worth considering if flashy design and brand name is your main focus. LowTide's case is an extra-wide platform, a three-year warranty as stated by the brand, local warranty support in Vancouver and Kelowna, and explicit support for daily rental-fleet use. SUPCove offers same-day Kelowna delivery and next-day delivery to many BC destinations, and 1-3 day delivery across Canada.

Our verdict

If the board will be used in a commercial rental fleet, LowTide is the more appropriate starting point based on the brands' stated policies. If you are buying for personal recreation, compare dimensions, total package weight, accessories and warranty coverage. The most valuable SUP is the one whose features and warranty match the way it will actually be used.
