Who Is LowTIDE?

Made for the water

Seven Years in the Premium SUP Industry Taught Us What Makes a Great Paddle Board. LowTide Is What We Built From It.

LowTide Paddle Board Brand Story

LowTide was built from more than seven years inside the premium paddle board industry, working with one of the largest premium SUP brands and seeing firsthand what actually makes a great board.

We worked our way through the industry, from factory floors alongside production and design teams, to retail floors and rental desks, following boards through their entire life cycle. That experience stretched across Alaska, Hawaii, Spain, and Canada.

We worked with rental operators in some of the hottest paddling destinations, all the way to an operator in Alaska renting paddle boards and leading SUP tours among glaciers. Along the way, we listened to thousands of customers, operators, and everyday paddlers to learn which premium features genuinely matter and which ones mostly just raise the price.

After more than seven years working with a large premium SUP company, it was time to step away and build something of our own. LowTide became that next chapter: an independent family brand built from everything we had learned, but with the freedom to do things differently.

We took everything learned from years around $990+ boards and worked backwards: keep the quality, stability, durability, and features people love, then rethink how the board reaches the customer.

Instead of building an expensive dealer and wholesale network, LowTide is direct-to-consumer. We keep a deliberately small retail footprint with one location in Kelowna, the SUP capital of British Columbia, while partnering with Sun Sand Surf, one of Calgary’s largest paddle board rental operators. Behind the scenes, a growing third-party warehousing network keeps inventory closer to customers and enables fast delivery across Canada, without the cost of owning multiple warehouses.

By removing unnecessary middle layers, more of what you pay goes into the board itself.

The result is straightforward: the kind of paddle board we were used to seeing at $990+, without the traditional markup that comes between the factory and the customer.

LowTide isn't a corporate paddle board brand. It's our family name, our experience, and our opportunity to build the boards we believe people should be able to own.

Premium boards no longer need $1,000+ price tags.

That’s LowTide.
